Kate McGuire

Kate was raised in Grafton, northern NSW, and moved to Brisbane to study a Bachelor of Laws (hons)/ Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in economics. In 2023 Kate was awarded the prestigious New Colombo Plan Scholarship from the Australian government and moved to Japan in September 2023, to complete an exchange semester where she studied international business, EU law and international human rights law among other subjects. Since then, Kate has been studying the Japanese language and was very excited to join the ANZCCJ in order to gain a deeper, hands-on understanding of Japanese-Australian trade. In her free time, Kate enjoys learning about history and visiting historical sites, reading Aussie literature and kayaking.
